Jan Cason
Jan recently retired from her position as Financial Manager at Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary after serving for fourteen years. She continues to teach a class at the seminary called The Business of Ministry as an adjunct professor. She also currently serves on the Administrative Council of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Waco, Texas where she has been an active member for over twenty years. Additionally, she plays the piano for Meadowbrook Baptist’s traditional worship service.
Jan worked in credit union accounting for over ten years during her husband’s military career in the Army. She attended Truett Seminary as a “second career” student and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree followed by an Executive MBA from Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business. Jan’s focus in seminary was Church Administration. After graduation from seminary Jan served as the Minister of Administration at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Waco for three years before beginning her position as Financial Manager at Truett Seminary.
Since retirement Jan’s passion continues to be in the area of Church Administration. In addition to serving on the CO+OP board, she also serves as a board member on the Baptist Church Loan Corporation and she is working with the Texas Baptist as a consultant on the National Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders sponsored by Lilly Endowment, Inc.
Jan has two married children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She loves to entertain in her home, and she loves to travel.
